Jodhpur MapJodhpur is the 2nd largest city in the state of Rajasthan in Northern India. Located at the eastern fringe of the Thar Desert, Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha. Jodhpur gave its name to the popular riding trouser that originated here. The city has popular monikers. The first being ‘Sun City’ due to the frequent bright and sunny weather that the city enjoys. The second and more common being ‘Blue City’ as plenty of of the houses surrounding the Fort are painted blue.
