Dimapur MapAlongside Kohima & Mokokchung, the city of Dimapur is of the municipalities & commercial hubs of the state of Nagaland. The city is the ancient capital of the Kachari tribe & is home to the ruins of the 10th century Kachari palace as well as the Rajbari fort ruins housing ancient stone monoliths & excavated tanks.

Dimapur is a gateway to Nagaland and is the only city in the region connected by rail and air. Naga tribes comprises 50% of the city’s population with the other 50% consisting of Bengalis, Assamese, Nepalese, Punjabis, Tamils, Keralites and even Tibetan traders who have settled in the city over the last couple of decades. Dimapur is now of the quickest growing townships in the north-eastern region of India.

Local attractions include a tourist village set on top of a hill with views of Dimapur below, the vibrant bazaars of Ruzaphema with a plethora of tribal handicrafts, the tiered waterfall of the Seithekima village and the Intangki Wildlife Sanctuary.
